Should i buy shogun 2
That's a problem with the engine, not the game. When it comes to line battles the engine, for what it's worth, does the job. For melee however, there is where the engine falters massively, even with the improvements done in Shogun 2, FoTS, Rome 2, Atilla, Warhammer and Arena.
The engine is great for 1v1 combat but takes away a ton of immersion in a large scale battle due to the great focus on the kill animations. Yeah, but at the same time, that one guy that just did that kill animation, can become surrounded during that and will be attacked by multiple enemies. This is something that lacks with the Warscape engine because it is continuosly focussed on the 1v1.
So you won't see 1 guy being hit by multiple enemies at once, but always one guy attacking him, whilst the other are drinking tea or whatever. No no, he get's stabbed and hit like times before he dies or he remembers he's gotta be somewhere and just casually walks out of the unit. Last edited by Inardesco ; 12 Feb, am. Which is something Shogun 2 lacks.
Rome II was hollow, boring aand lacked so much depth that it becomme total snooze fest part turn 60 At best , but they really went to town on the Shogun II game. I wouldn't say it's rich in content but it's got some depth to it,and unlike it's Rome II counterpart, Shogun II actually has some immersion factor to it.
I'd recommend trying Medieval II first though, as most totally new players to totl war would have trouble jumping straight into Shogun II. People that started with Rome 2 also claim that Rome 2 is the best TW games out there. Even though it's one of the most boring and blandest TW games. Per page: 15 30 Includes Steam Achievements.
