Delta Tail: The tail has a triangular shape. It comes from the outermost rays on the tail being the same length as the middle. Betta shows the widest-tailed of the Delta Tails are the most sought after. Double Tails: These small fishes have their tail fork into two halves. Double Tails Bettas are genetic rarities and it is very hard to find them in pet stores. Half Moons: A Delta tail can become so wide that it forms a half circle or half-moon shape, at which point it becomes known as the Half Moon Betta.

Half Moons are the most widespread variety among hardcore Betta fanciers. Crown Tails: The rays of the tail extend well past the webbing, giving the tail a prickly appearance.

Crown Tails are most frequently single rayed. Then breeders bred double rayed Crown Tails which had tail rays branching off. But your betta shouldn't die from an air pump. I've seen many people that own betta that have an air pump in there tank and haven't died. It could cause stress depending on your betta's personalitty. Will beta fish die if you hair an air pump in the water with them? Ive had this betta for almost two years. For the last couple months hes been swimming less and now his fins are gone. Hes floating vertical in the tank but still breathing from the surface only. Hi everyone. Havent been on for a while and I cant believe I even have to write this but: Sharkey was doing splendid and then two nights ago he started acting super super weird.

He acted like he was super meth'd out or something. He was a nervous wreck. I have no idea at all what the heck happened. So yesterday I put him back into his 1gal bowl to give him security but then I noticed below his eyes by nose, the scales were scraped off and it was like raw bloody looking and he had scraped some off his back too.

I dont know what the heck is his deal but I will tell you I am truly not going to go thru an era of him being sick again. He wants his water very warm, 80, so i constantly am worrying about keeping the heating pad on most of the night, and i keep the pooh and debris off the bottom.

I was told dont feed him and then I just have , as long as he eats it right away and I feel like maybe eating will calm him down also. He does not have the ick for sure, does anyone else have any ideas. I know I know he needs mental accessment. He acts buck crazy right now.

I hadnt ever read anything about whether it was good exercise to let them flare up or not. I did think though it could make them either aggressive, scared or stressed. So I dont do it. If your fish has little white spots, look like someone salted him, thats ICK, its mainly a water problem. So everyday now i just check the bottom for pooh.
